Having healthy active kids is really important to me.
Back in 2017 I was "head down, powering forward" running a busy family bootcamp and fitness studio. I had passionately built Burn It fitness up over an intensive 12 years whilst juggling a young family and a long daily commute to London from Kent. I was burning out and feeling the pressure from all sides! Suddenly My life took a dramatic U-turn. We found out we were having another baby!. It was time for a total change, big decisions had to be made so I sold my London business and finally took some time off to have our Son.
Sport and fitness has always been a huge part of my life. Competing at school level in athletics and gymnastic, completing numerous road races 10k, half marathons and the London 2016 Marathon which was by far my toughest challenge to date. It feels great to focus my body and mind at the same time. When I workout I have bags more energy! My kids see me bounding around and now they regularly join me on runs and workouts.
The benefits of exercising together as a family is huge for us. We love leading by example, sharing special, quality time and enjoying some simple challenges that develop all our competitive spirits.
I'm proud to say my 3 kids will enter adulthood with a healthy view of exercise, strong physical capabilities and a great understanding of nutrition and happy, family values. I'm instilling in them that the most important things in life are not things!
Seeing the impact working out together has on my family has inspired me to help others workout together in an inclusive, fun and dynamic outdoor environment.
